sedona.

a few weeks ago we went to arizona for a family trip at my dad and stepmom’s house in scottsdale. my sister mallory and her boyfriend jon flew from san francisco, and my stepbrother jon and his girlfriend anna flew from seattle and we all partied together in az! we were missing two (missed you ty and brian!) but we had a great time. one day we drove to sedona to hike at cathedral rock and swim at slide rock park. the views here are gorgeous! sedona is famous for their red rocks. a lot of western movies were filmed here, as well as some classics (vacation and karate kid to name a few!) if you have ever been to arizona in july, you know it was so so hot! we thought by driving north to sedona, it would cool off. and it did. maybe from 104 down to 100? it was nice to cool off at slide rock park, which is a natural water slide formed by the slippery bed of oak creek. i didn’t feel like bringing my camera on this adventure, so this is the best of the best of the iphone photos! and i didn’t risk my iphone at slide rock park, so really i just have the hike. enjoy!
i’m laughing right now at the frozen water bottle that is lodged in my shirt. i didn’t feel like carrying it, and it was very cooling! i am pointing out the rock formation that looks like a mermaid. that was the one piece of information i retained from our previous sedona trip. our “hike” was much more of a rock climb than anticipated! my dad and stepmom walked out here and it looked terrifying! also, special shoutout to them today on their 18th wedding anniversary! hope you are reading! 🙂
