Because so many of you are Northern girls, and because here in Minnesota we have Winter for at least 3 more months, I thought I would (from time to time) share some of my favorite Winter items! Let's start with the Cocoon Coat from J. Crew Factory. I've had this coat for a little over a year (I got it for Christmas last year) and it is shockingly warm. I'm a Minnesota girl, and I know when a coat is warm or not. It's a wool blend, so warm enough, but not too itchy or uncomfortable. I ... View the Post
Collagen + Why You Need It
A few months ago, I started incorporating collagen peptides into my daily routine. I add it to my coffee each morning and have been seeing great results. Collagen peptides seem to be a hot topic, so I thought I would answer some questions. I must admit, I don’t know all of the science behind collagen, but I have done some research and also taken some information from the Vital Proteins website as well (the brand of collagen peptides that I take). What is Collagen? Collagen is a protein ... View the Post
Let’s Talk About Growth Mindset
To give some background, I first heard of the term “growth mindset” in a training at work. I take lots of different leadership trainings, and growth mindset is a concept that continuously comes up in trainings. It changed the way that I like think about my learning and development, and I think others of you may be interested as well! So, What Is Growth Mindset? I am kind of particular when it comes to protein bars, but these four are my faves. You can find them all at Trader Joe's (hello the only place I shop!) but also linked here from Amazon! Rx Bar Rx Bars have less ... View the Post
Goals for 2019
2018 was a rough one. It was full of both highs and lows, memories I will cherish and others I can't wait to forget. It's probably not a year I want to re-live over and over (that's for sure), but I learned and grew a lot too. In 2018 I got promoted and have grown a lot professionally, I traveled to two new countries (Iceland + Ireland!), I grew my blog and got to connect with so many wonderful followers, and I built and strengthened relationships with friends and family. When you say it like ... View the Post
Liss Travels: Bimini
Ain’t no place in the whole wide world like Bimini! Bimini has been on our radar for a few years after seeing it on not only the Bachelor (anyone else remember when they went there on Nick’s season?) but also on the Jersey Shore. Bimini is a chain of islands about 50 miles from Miami. The proximity to Florida and the new high-speed ferry make it an easy travel destination! Tony and I had originally planned an 8-day trip to Florida in November in need of some R&R. Our last few big trips ... View the Post
