they met on valentine’s day 2013. me and tony had dinner plans, as most couples do. a few of our single friends were going out that night and wanted alexis to join. she reluctantly agreed, although celebrating valentine’s day with a bunch of girlfriends was probably not what she had in mind. on that valentines night, she met gordy. if that is not the most serendipitous meeting of all time, i don’t know what is.
the way that alexis would talk about gordy, i knew he was going to be someone special, but it wasn’t until gordy started condo shopping, that i knew he was the one. gordy would set up a showing for a condo, and alexis would go too. and when gordy was shopping for something for the new place, alexis would be there giving input. that was when i knew, okay, these two are thinking about forever.
when tony and i started talking seriously about our future together, i knew it would mean moving out of the apartment alexis and i had shared for close to two years. i wasn’t worried at all about having this conversation with her, because i knew alexis would have the perfect home with gordy. so in march of 2014, tony proposed (read about it here!), and alexis and i both packed up of our lives and moved to be with the men we loved. needless to say, i could not have been more excited when gordy proposed to alexis. they are the most beautiful couple and will have a lifetime of happiness together.
we celebrated their wedding with them in lake forest, illinois. it was the most magical winter wedding. i could see alexis in every detail. it was literally magic.
