our waiter on the ship mentioned that the beers in cozumel were only a dollar, so we knew it would be a good day going into it. we didn’t plan an excursion for cozumel, we just felt like checking out the island. when we got off the ship, we took a cab to the main square. none of us had ever been there, so it was fun to just walk around, eat, drink, and shop. at the end of the day (maybe it was all of the beer), we decided to walk back to the ship. this was a questionable idea because it was so. hot. literally ever photo of us at the end of the day is just red faced and sweating. we were so hot on the walk that we stopped to cool off by the beach and ended up jumping right in!
anyway, here are the highlights:
the food: best fish taco ever at a random hole-in-the-wall place and best al pastor taco ever at a restaurant on the water
the drinks: lots of $1 sol and pacifico beers
the shopping: a mexican blanket in the colors of our new bonus room (!!), a frame, a bucket hat for tony, and cigars (that joe and tony smoked right there on the street)
overall, cozumel was a total fiesta. enjoy some of our favorite photos below!

tony bought me these sunglasses before we left for our trip and it was just the cutest thing. i had admired a girl’s heart-shaped sunglasses in the elevator of our building one day. he remembered and went and found a pair just like them. my heart literally melted. he is constantly doing the sweetest things! these glasses were perfect for this vacation and i wore them constantly!
