Room & Board Oxford Sectional Review

Our Room & Board Oxford sectional sofa is one of our very favorite things we own! Our living room is long and narrow so we were looking for a sectional with one short side and one REALLY long side. We looked at a lot of sectionals and most have sides that are more similar in length (that probably work well in larger or square rooms). What we were looking for was kind of specific! We found this sectional and it was perfect because it is a larger sectional but it can fit into a smaller space. Ours is the 123 inch sofa, but there is a shorter option as well.

The best feature of this sectional (in my opinion!) is that it has a pop-up platform queen sleeper. Although the intention of the sleeper is to be used for guests, we keep it out most of the time for lounging! We have watched A LOT of tv on this couch. The sleeper is the same material and cushion as the couch, so when popped out, it’s basically a giant lounge bed. As I mentioned, the pop-up sleeper is queen size, and it does fit a queen fitted sheet. No one has slept on there yet, but it’s a great feature that I know we will use at some point!

The short side (the chaise) opens up for storage. Before we had a playroom, I stored all of Rosie’s toys in there. Now it’s the perfect place to put all of the extra pillows and blankets. You could also store the linens for when you want to use it as a guest bed.

The only real downside is that when pulled out, there is a 2 inch gap between the chaise and the sleeper. Because we have it popped out a lot, we do notice this gap. Our toddler will inadvertently get her foot stuck in the gap, or at times the remote or a phone will fall down into the gap. This is only an issue when pulled out (to be clear!)

Pros of the Oxford Sectional

  • Comfortable
  • Durable
  • Well made
  • Dimensions work for a narrow space
  • Has a pop-up sleeper
  • Has a storage chaise for blankets
  • Easy to clean (we use Folex!)
  • Big enough for lots of people
  • Cushions hold their shape
  • Deep cushions

Cons of the Oxford Sectional

  • Takes a bit to break in
  • Very firm (especially for sleeping)
  • 2 inch gap when the sleeper is popped out
  • A bigger investment

I highly recommend this sectional for anyone with a narrow room or anyone wanting an extra bed or comfy space for watching tv! This would also be a great couch for someone in a condo or other small space that is trying to get a lot of bang for their buck!
